blutac in hair

I've just tried to plait DD's hair for bed and she has a big lump of blutac matted into her hair. it looks like it's been rubbed in and is a right mess. does anyone know of any tricks to get it out or will i just have tp get it cut?
it's about time she had a trim, but i didn't really want to take it quite as short as it will need to go.
i actually think that a child sat behind her in school at carpet time must've done it, i can't see how else it could've got that bad.

I'd sit and pick each hair out individually.. it needs to be just warm enough to be soft but not sticky. My daughters have waist length hair and I've done it with theirs..

Oil or butter. Work it into the hair and the blu tack and it should help it slide off the hair.
Good luck! You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -
I have used ice cubes to get chewing gum out of hair so it may work with blue tac. Just hold bag of ice cubes around lump for a few minutes to freeze it and it then loses some of its stickyness and may come out. good luck x0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I know that rubbing an ice cube on the hair does the trick for removing chewing gum, maybe with a try. HTHMarried 1st October 2015:heartpuls

righto, she's asleep now, was already past bedtime when i found it.
I can't see it being any worse by morning.
I've put some water in th efreezer ready for morning to try first, then will try oil if we need to.
thanks very much for the suggestions xfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
blu tac gets cold and it sticks like glue - warm it up and it releases its hold. So, I would warm it start releasing each hair - Ive done this with the dog (springer spaniel) when she sat on a huge lump of it!0

ah ok, will try that first then
