gumtree ad removed and I dont understand why

I listed my old phone as I have had an upgrade recently. The phone was low cost and I added my own photos to the listing.

This evening I have received an email from gumtree saying they have removed my listing saying.........

"We have reason to believe that your ad is offering an item that infringes on intellectual property (IP) rights"

I listed it in the mobile section and under the HTC section. I just dont understand what I have done wrong. Can anybody advise????

  • how, exactly did you word the ad? Were there any images on the phone (or visible in the photos you took) that might have infringed somewhere?

It seems a bit random and bizzare.
"So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:
  • the picture was the phone on the lock screen which was the standard one as I factory reset the phone to wipe all my data. the listing title was HTC hero mobile phone on 3 network. The photos were my own of the actual phone.

I have emailed gumtree asking for an explanation
