Dimmer Switch and Low Energy Bulb Question
arkwright01
I've just moved into a house that has a dimmer switch fitted in the lounge. I have no need of it and plan to change it back to a normal light switch. In the meantime though I was wondering if I could use a normal (ie. non-dimmable) low energy bulb. Is it dangerous...can the bulb blow-up or something?
Thanks for any replies.

If you use it at full brightness all of the time it should be fine. The worst that will happen is the bulb will fail.0

I've replaced a few where the dimmer switch has gone bang, so I wouldn't use it with a low energy bulb.0
