Mortgage-free Glee! Hung up my suit! Xmas Saver!
Can anyone recommend a really effective cleaner to remove layers of grease from kitchen cupboards? I have used soda crystals in the past and I know decorators use sugar soap...are these the best options?

Good old fashioned neat washing up liquid will cut through grease.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • We really rate stuff called Elbow Grease. It's about 90p a bottle and I rate it higher than Cilit bang

A lot of supermarkets stock Stardrops but I usually buy mine in either pound shops or Savers. The original from Savers but the others from the pound shop.

  • I used Sugarsoap to clean the tops of my cupboards, they look good as new.

where can I buy Stardrops? they are mentioned a lot on the OS, but I have never seen them..

There are several types of stardrops too. For greasy cleaning I find the white coloured liquid which has a little ammonia in it best.

The yellow one is a bit like strong washing up liquid and still good but not as good as the white one for degreasing in my very humble opinion.

I suffer very badly from severe acute inability to want to get off the couch and do something, so I like stuff that works first time.

Soda crystals and v hot water = perfect...

OR, I recently discovered that if you dissolve a DW tablet in half a pint of hot water, it is a fantastic de-greaser! Really effective :)

Ah, thanks had forgotton about dishwasher tabs.... also really good for removing all the green algae that collects on paths and fences and stuff in all the wet dingy weather we've been having.

WD40. You'll be amazed how easily it removes grease. Great for cleaning cupboard tops and extractor fans :)
Also easier to use than climbing steps with bowls of hot soapy water ;)
The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
