Kitchen Degreaser

Apologies if this is not in the right section....
I will soon be taking back possession of a flat which has been rented out to tenants for 5 years. Recent inspection has told me that it is filthy, especially the kitchen.
Can anyone recommend a really effective cleaner to remove layers of grease from kitchen cupboards? I have used soda crystals in the past and I know decorators use sugar soap...are these the best options?
I have ordered Oven Mate for the cooker hob and oven....is this the best option?
Thanks in advance

Soda crystals are fab for really cutting through grease, I wish I had know this years ago.
Also oven pride is the best I have found for oven cleaning, makes really light work of it

ive tried numerous items to cut through grease on cupboards and kitchen tiles, but found the best that worked for me is wire wool soap pads, very little effort...my units are wood grain effect with shallow grooves...no damage to them whatsoever :TYesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, And Today is a Gift, That's Why it's Called The Present

I've found that neat stardrops on a microfibre cloth can get grease off. I did scratch a kitchen cupboard door a few years back trying to use a green scrubby, but I have used that (with the stardrops) on tiles and worktops with no problems.0

If the oven is really bad it may be worth having it professionally cleaned, I think my friend paid £60, but it really was like a new oven after it was done.0
