contract phone while on IVA

I couldn't get one for my son (who was under 18 at the time) even though he was paying the monthly DD himself and couldn't be guarantor to my other son for his house rental whilst at Uni - I guess it pings up as insolvent when they do a credit check.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game0 -
No, it is not obtaining credit, as your contract is not CCA compliant. However, some networks will not accept those who are bankrupt (non discharged) OR operating within an IVA. The credit check and your history will decide this.0

I couldn't! Tried with two operators, one of whom I had a perfect phone payment history with, not a chance! My OH set it up and gets the brownie points in her credit file, but I have been paying for up to three phones from my account for over three years. 98 days to go, then the IVA drops out of my file ....0

...Heard on another forum that T-Mobile are 'IVA-friendly' for want of a better phrase.
Try them, and let us know how you get on. Good Luck!!!0
