Seller says item not returned - but it signed for

Hi,
I purchase some items which turned up filthy inside. It was from a nightmare seller who only has 4.4 feedback on every level ! Anyway, I send the product back recorded delivery and I have been given proof that a signature as obtained from RM via email.

So I've done my part - sent it back the items and got a signature. I presuming that it will have to be the seller who will have to claim compensation and fill out forms - not me?
Any advice really appreciated. I'm out of pocket on the return postage even though they did not described their product accurately.
I think considering their poor feedback that this seller is just trying it on.
How do I proceed?

Have you opened a case, with either ebay or paypal? If not, do so, upload your tracking number to the case, escalate as soon as you are able and you should get a refund

I opened a case when I recieved the items. I haven't closed it yet. I received a refund but not for my return postage.

Yet .. I've sent back their item but they are saying they have not recieved it. Do I send them a photocopy of the signature?

If it's a private seller, they are not obliged to refund return postage - so just reflect this in your feedback and stars.

I wouldn't communicate with them anymore- just make sure you upload the tracking detail to your case so that the refund doesn't get reversed. As far as you are concerned, the item has been sent back, and you have proof of delivery.

Apart from giving them the tracking number -do I need to give them a copy of the signature which RM gave me?
    Thanks for your kind help.
  • Have you put the tracking number in the dispute, because eBay will give you your refund then. Then the seller is eBay's problem.

Got the refund but not return postage. Seller saying item has not been returned. I've email them with the tracking number and told them to make a claim. Since they are not a business I think I've waved goodbye to by postage, but I will leave the ebay claim open just in case.

They've been a terrible seller on all counts.

With hindsight it might have been better not to deal with a seller with DSR stars of 4.4.
It may well be that when you leave your own feedback and stars, it willl be enough to have e-bay ban them.

Believe me with hindsight I was a fool ! It was too much of a good thing and I should have known better!
