Advice on re-homing Mothers cat (possibly with us)

Hi Guys
Thanks for all your replies. I thought that I would update you on the outcome as it has astounded me.........
Mum has now been admitted to a lovely Care Home with fantastic staff and....... they have taken the Cat too!!!!!! :T
I could not have wished for a better outcome, both Mum and the cat are settling in well. All the carers, of course, love the cat who now has a proper routine and is being fed regularly - just like Mum in fact :T
For anyone else in this situation - via a forum search or something - I used independant consultants to find the Care home, it costs money to do this, but it was their idea that Mum could take the Cat with her as it would help her to settle in and I think , because they made the initial approaches to the Homes this has helped to smoooth the way. As someone who lives in rented property (and you know how difficult that is for pet owners) I would NEVER have thought this possible.
The Cat is, of course, now the centre of attention - it hellps that she was/is a "house cat" but the carers and other residents all love her.
