You complain to whoever sold it to you, si if loans.co.uk sold it to you then you complain to them.

As you were made bankrupt, you still cannot receive any redress from this loan. SO effectively, you cannot complain about it, the ability to complain now rests with the OR but your wife can.

I have complained in joint names as that's how the loan was taken out, the OR has finalised all dealings into my affairs!

Do I chase up loans.co.uk then?

The OR may have finalised dealings but that doesn't mean that you have the right to complain

  • We have today won our appeal against First Plus PPI for mis-sold PPI, having originally had our claim rejected in February. We received our 5 year cash-back in April I then requested copies of the phone conversations which clearly showed they'd coerced us in to PPI and never asked about our medical history or gave a breakdown of the figures. First Plus have now agreed to recalculate our loan taking in to consideration the cash back already paid out and making us £139 a month better off.
Don't take no for an answer!!! :j
  • I have a siliamr problem, I had a firstplus loan over 15 years payments were £239 recieved £5000 cashback however the repayments went up to £257 over the remaining period. We have 4 years left and want to pay it off are we still paying PPI ??

What do they say when you ask them that question?

You are probably still paying the interest on the PPI.
Make a complaint, see what happens.

As you had the cashback, this is the whole PPI less interest.
Did you win redress for mis sell of the PPI? , this should have been taken off the loan to reduce the balance. Did you do this?.
If not, sadly, you will pay the original PPI plus the interest to the loan term end.

There is nothing you can do about this.

Had you taken any redress off the loan, this would have reduced the payment and the interest.

If you won mis sell, were you offered the choice of taking this off the loan or in a cheque to you?.

The cashback is the carrot FP used when selling this extortionate PPI.

Customers think ,what a bonus to get a lump sum after 5 years.
What customers do not know and what FP do not tell them, is the PPI cashback does not include the interest for the 5 years and that the whole PPI is still on the loan to term end with interest.
You pay dearly for taking the cashback.

They do not give the cashback and mis sell to you and then reduce the loan. This is giving it to you twice.
  • Hello . I'm new to the whole forum thing. So please forgive me for any errors.
I am trying to see if I can claim back PPI for an old loan I had with both First Plus ,Alliance and Leicester and an Egg card.Sadly I do not have my details still. Looking at this site I can see I can still send a letter. However I do not know where to send the letter as these company's do not exist anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially the addresses.
    Thank you

Do you know the year you took these loans out?.

You may need to find out who the broker was as First Plus sold loans through brokers a few years ago, before selling them direct.
First Plus have sold the loan book to Elderbridge,if yours was settled it would not have been passed over, obviously,so you need to know who you got the original loan through and the date before you can take this further

You need to contact Santander for the Alliance & Leceister loan, let them know this was with A&L,give them as much info as you can so they can find you.
It is possible they do not have records if this was taken out a long time ago.

I believe Barclays deal with Egg,not sure though.

You could do SAR requests, these are £10 per bank, they will give you all info they hold on you,if they still have it,this is not a given depending how long ago these loans were taken out.
