OOD Mary Berry christmas cake mix...

I got two of the big pouches of Mary Berry's Christmas cake mix from MrT's last year (£2 instead of £20 :j)
They were out of date in Feb this year, any ideas what 'part' of it (if any) won't be useable just now?
I'm thinking maybe the royal icing and/or marzipan is what will be OOD and unuseable, the rest is just flour/nuts/dried fruits etc.
Any ideas?

Can't think of anything smart to put here...

I found 2 in my cupboard back in July and I didn't use the nuts or the marzipan but used everything else. My kit had use by dates but flour etc don't go out of date.0

I've got the same kit (bought for £3 in Tesco in the sale) and intend to use it tomorrow or Sunday. I'll taste the nuts to see if they're off, if they are I'll replace them, if they're ok I'll use them. The rest should be fine.0

I still have Taste The Difference Xmas Cake Kit from Sainsburys bb 02/12. I can't see there is anything in it that will be OOD.
I intend to make it this weekend and feed it until Xmas. This will be the earliest I have ever made a Xmas cake!!!#44 £168.41/£20230 -

I have one of these too and am planning to make it next month when I have a week off, but as the fruit has been in cognac for over a year minimum I don't think I will be adding any more, but then I am not really a fan of boozy cakes.:rotfl:0 -
I made one of these a month ago,fed it a bit of brandy and can say it tastes lovely. Probably didn't need feeding brandy but It didn't do any harm.0

Marzipan might be a bit dry. If it is, dice it and whizz it in the food proc. with a qtr teaspoon lemon juice to moisten it.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Thanks everyone :T
I'm planning on making one tomorrow. I know they should be left for at least a month, but I'm going to leave it about 2 weeks. This gives me time to try it and make the second one in time for Christmas dinner
Thanks for the marzipan tip. I actually hate the stuff, but I don't know if I can leave it off as dh loves itCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
I've got one of the Waitrose Delia kits somewhere ... I was planning to dig it out this weekend and I'm sure it'll be fine.0

I also have two of the Mary Berry mixes, was going to use all the ingredients as reckon they will be fine. Made the Christmas cupcakes a few weeks ago from last year and they were fine.0
