Samsung Galaxy SII - BBC iPlayer problems - help pls

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help.

I have a Samsung Galaxy sII mobile phone. Until now it has played BBC iPlayer and videos from other sources without difficulty.

The other night it the iPlayer site asked me to download their new "BBC media player" in order to continue using the site. So I did that. It then allowed me to watch something without problem.

The next day, the phone will no longer play anything on the BBC iPlayer site and now it also won't play videos from other websites - just if you randomly click on a news item with a video, the videos will not play.

I've no idea what's gone wrong. Please can anyone help me fix this?

Hi Agrinall,

Thanks for your link - I'll take a look at this but I think it is more something that has gone wrong on the phone itself because it is affecting playing of all video content, not just the BBC iPlayer - although that's where I first noticed it wasn't working.

If anyone has any suggestions for what I might need to check or change on the phone settings that would be great. Everything has been working fine, without problem until just a day ago... !

The error message I am getting when trying to play iPlayer is:

"this content doesn't seem to be working. Please check your network connectivity and try again later".

I can access the internet fine so I don't think it is a network connectivity issue.

Have you got one or both of the BBC players installed ("BBC Media player" and "BBC iPlayer")?
Remove them both then try to play a video to see if it works then install the BBC iplayer see if that makes any difference.
