Adding daughter to car policy - best ins. company?

Hi,
I would be grateful for some advice. I drive a mini cooper clubman, so not the cheapest car to insure at the best of times. My daughter, who is nineteen, is away at university but would like to use the car on occasion when she is home, so Christmas, Easter, summer.
My current insurer, the CIS wouldn't add her for short periods and wanted over £1000 to add her for the four months that the policy had left.
My policy is now up for renewal and so I've been ringing around and MoreThan would not even add her to the policy.
Can anyone point me in the direction of an insurance company that would add my daughter to my policy for either the term or short periods and that wouldn't expect me to remortgage the house to do so?
Cheers

I dont think there are any insurers that would add someone to a new policy short term.
IMO it would be 12 months or nothing, I may be wrong and would be interested to know if there are any that do
As for not costing the house, she is a teenager. what type of car is it.
I have just been quoted £1300 to add my son for the remaining 9 months to my wifes car and he has just passed his test0 -
My solution , moved from the AA , to direct Line. Luckily my daughter is older and has driven for a few years , but my new quote with her is £27 cheaper than the original . without her!0

I agree, I would try contacting Direct Line by phone, I got a good deal for my 19 year old new driver on my policy but it was not for temporary cover. They seemed to be flexible with my requirements. Good luck!!0

My 22yr old daughter is with Admiral and pays around £650 for her Corsa, she recently added her boyfriend 24 to the policy for the weekend at a cost of £30Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Thanks all for the responses.
Just to update - contacted both companies suggested and both prohibitively expensive, with direct line coming at at over £4,000 ouch! Gone ahead and just covered it for myself with more than, saving nearly £200 on the renewal from the original company. Suppose dear daughter is just going to have to continue using public transport and of course the £3,700 saved by not adding her to my policy will pay for a LOT of taxis.
Many thanks0 -

Ok already done? I went through comparison sites to get best deal for adding my son onto my policy. also added wife as it cuts down risk as she has been driving for years. So two experienced drivers and one new gets cheaper deal.
Or your daughter can bite bullet and get her own insurance for a car and put you and perhaps wife down as named drivers.:)The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
