Question re balance transfers

I have an MBNA card with a interest free period until April 2013 at which point I'll be able to pay the balance off from a cash ISA. MBNA have just offered me another interest free period until September 2013 for any tranfers made after September 2012. My question is, if I pay off £5k in April, will they reduce the initial balance trnafer or will they reduce the new balance, which is within the interest free period and charge me interest on the older balance? Can't find anything in the small print so before I phone them, I thought I'd try here in case anyone's had experience of this.
