I dont want to dwell too much except to say I find myself in the most horrid of situations and my home is being repossessed. Most matters I've managed to get sorted, the bills, council tax, a new place to live but I'm struggling to find an answer about my service charge.
Its a two bedroomed flat which is going, Im okay with the utilities, they've been cancelled, the council tax I have the six months no paying but with the service charge, am i still liable for that once repossession happens? I dont want to phone the company that deals with it as I am too scared, my worry is they come after me with a ccj even though it has been repossessed
can anyone help

Once it formally repossessed you don'to wn it anymore so I assume you wouldn't be liable. With regards a CCJ, do you expect them to be able to sell the property for enough to cover what you owe them? If not they will expect you to agree to terms to repay the balance."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

The new leaseholder takes on the service charge debt, unless there is a legal agreement made that the outgoing leaseholder is responsible. May I ask why you are in this position? Are you sure you have been claiming ALL the benefits you are entitled to? There is Support for Mortgage Interest which kicks in after three months, help with ground rent and service charges also after three months which is paid as part of JSA and some other means tested benefits.
The recommendation from the debt charities is you pay your mortgage and food first, then council tax then other bills last, you can get a Debt Management Plan to get most creditors off your back. Utilities will generally install a prepayment meter rather than cut you off. You might also move into the smaller bedroom and have a lodger in the larger one - the income is tax free. Are you intending to go bankrupt to deal with the negative equity?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
