Christmas in the sun???

Anyone have any ideas - or great travel agents or sites?

We haven't been away this year, and have christmas booked off. We were going to go to Mexico or Dom republic as AI, but as a childminder, a change in children means the funds aren't there.... :(

We are a family of 2 adults, and 3 children, (10, 7 & 3). I have found AI Eygpt (Sharm) for about £2300, but after looking into it - not sure I'd relax, as it is right next to the danger - do not go zones...

AI Canaries, Feuterventura I can get for similar price, but it's not great weather in Dec. I want somewhere we can enjoy the pool & beach.

Want an AI holiday, as I know it's all paid for, and if we've no extra money - at least the kids can still have unlimited drinks etc. Total budget about £2700.

Any suggestions???

I was in Fuertuventura for 10 days in December when we had the long harsh winter in 2010 .. It was lovely and warm 28/30 degrees , we got the odd shower but it only lasted mins .. If I remember it was minus 18 here .

Have had three winter holidays there with a fourth booked for March ..never been disappointed with the weather ( though it can be chilly at night ) :)

    Hi Tycho,

Try not to dismiss Sharm, I have been several times the first time being about 10 years ago when the bomb went off there.... I can promise you will feel totally safe there!
We are going again for this xmas havent booked as yet, looking at Iberotel palace....

Maybe you should ask on the forums on tripadvisor about Sharm.

I was thinking of Canaries myself but you just cant guarantee the weather there anymore
