buying my mums council house

Hi, chances something like this will have been asked before so ill apologise in advance :-)
I have lived with my mum in a sort of council house for the last 25 years, I say sort of because it is owned by the county council rather than a district council or housing association (its a former school house built for teachers at the school next door). I have paid rent to the council for the last 15 years and at the mo I'm paying £500 a month to live here. As I only earn a meagre salary as a council employee most of my wage has gone in rent. Now my mum has been accepted an offer for a bungalow from the local housing association and it looks like ill have to move in with her because I cant afford to buy anything.
Is is possible for me to claim all that past rent I've paid over the years in order to buy this house? I was only 14 when I moved in so my name is not on the tenancy.

why are you paying rent if you are not a named tenant?
do you pay your mum or the "council"?
normally only those named on a tenancy agreement have a right to buy0 -
It is worth running an advanced search, this issue has come up many times. If you are not named on the tenancy agreement you are not entitled to purchase the property and have no discount. If the tenancy has never been reassigned you *may* be able to take over the tenancy from your mother. Not sure your mother will be permitted to have you live with her in the bungalow, have you checked her tenancy agreement? Can't you move into a shared rented house or flat with people of a similar age to you?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

You can't claim the rent you've paid to buy it anyway. If your name isn't on the tenancy you can't buy it. And even if you could, it would be at market value less a small discount so you'd still need to be able to get a mortgage which is likely to not happen if you're on a low income.0
