Comparrison Sites - How to Factor in Price Hikes

I want to switch tariff as I'm out of contract and on an uncompetetive tariff.
But the comparrison sites just give me the cheapest tariff TODAY.
4 of the big 6 have announced prike hikes but they've not come into effect yet?
How do I work out the best deal for me?

If you use energyhelpline (thats the one I use), do your comparison and when the results are displayed look on the right hand side for a list of options/links.
Choose "price changes and predictions" and that will tell you for each company the latest advertised price increases and the date the energyhelpline database was updated,
for example Atlantic price increased on 15 Oct but the energyhelpline was updated on 24 Aug.
You can then tell when looking at your results if the price increases have been taken into account.0 -
As soon as the price hikes are announced they are put on the comparison sites so what you see will be the higher tariffs.0

Ah, many thanks both, I didn't know that.
Much appreciated0 -
PS:
This company is quite competetive for me 'Ebico'.
How do I know if they've hiked?0 -

So any results on there for Ebico would be at the preincrease price.
I think all sites would be at the preincrease price for Ebico. Ebico is linked to the SSE companies, eg Southern Electric, and although they have announced increases Ebico have not yet done so.0 -
The comp sites give you prices for the next12m, not today. So if your discount tariff ended tomorrow, they'd factor in the next 364 days at Standard, or whatever the default tariff was. Once a price rise has been announced, the comp site will adjust accordingly. Any increase within that 12m period, whether tomorrow or a month ahead, will be allowed for.
You've long missed the boat on cheap fixes though. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
