Managed quite a bit listwise, off to chill and do a bit of knitting. Even remembered to return my library books and luckily for me two of the books I'd ordered had arrived too - Win! Win! - am forever extolling the virtues of our libraries to everyone I know, lol, if we dont use them then we may end up losing them! Ours doesnt even charge for ordering books in, I've taken to looking at the books in the supermarkets and then ordering them in.

May not get on much over the weekend as after OH has finished work tomorrow we are going to bring mum home again

Take care all, may you all have a great weekend you wonderful peeps :A

    I had a NSD today :j

Honestly can't remember the last time I didn't spend any money in a day :o

Currently looking for dvd's for a ha,per idea I saw on another board. DVD, popcorn, sweets and a bottle of fizzy juice. What a relatively cheap but lovely Christmas present for my brother, and probably one for each of my two bil's :)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

I took sandwiches in to work today instead of buying lunch in the canteen or elsewhere and took tomatoes grown in my garden and now ripening inside due to the pants weather and a couple of apples picked from mum's apple trees last month. Mostly free and mostly fresh! I've started using my bread making machine again...it's actually not bad bread so will continue to use it where i can. I love the smell of freshly baked bread too.

Not much but at least lunch today was semi healthy and quite cheap!

Tomorrow, my lodger is going to change the washer in my kitchen tap...we've downloaded the instructions and we will go and buy the washer tomorrow. A small job that plumber would charge a small fortune. We are going to get a bit more savvy with things like this and try and do ourselves where possible.
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)

Sold item on facebay £10 to me (on Monday)

    Hey

I'm having a bit of sh1tty ol' day.

Remember I was saying the dog didn't chew things when we were out??? He's been on a mission this week and chewed the laminate off the integrated freezer door and ripped the leather chair in the living room. :(

We ordered a new door - £112 on the cc :( - but then found out that it might've been covered under insurance w/wickes because the kitchen hasn't been in v long. Apparently they could've changed the policy to our name from old owners. :( Why couldn't they have been nice to us and tell us this when we ordered it!!? Might still call customer services in the morning.

As for the chair - OH stitched it (bless him) and it looked ok but the dog got into it again today and now it is a lot worse than it was to start with. I think we could get rid of it but the living room then might look a bit lopsided/like something is missing. We could get rid of both chairs and buy a two-seater sofa but that wouldn't then match the three-seater... Decisions decisions :( I don't know if that would be covered under house insurance but that might be more hassle than it's worth!

I did bag myself 6 hours of overtime tomorrow = £132 gross but probs £50 after the tax man has had his share.

Used Quidco and got £65 back on insurance. Apparently they're a 'faster payer' so we'll see when that arrives...

Other +ve is that it's my wedding anniversary next week. That's good in itself but more positively - mum called to say that although she would normally send us flowers for our anniversary she's decided this year to send us money and we can buy flowers ourselves if we want them. Bless her. We'll go out for a meal instead - have club card vouchers and other restaurant vouchers but none includes drinks so now we can buy ourselves some vino tinto - and by gosh do I need it! :)

Sorry for the rant! Feel a bit better getting that off my chest!
