Fri 19th October - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Hello folks,
Today I'm going to:
:heart2: Have a day off and trying to keep work out of my mind for the weekend for the sake of my sanity. Done.
:heart2: Wait for new 0% credit card agreement to arrive. Done.
:heart2: Do mystery shopping visit for £8. Done.
:heart2: Use free Firefox browser which seems to load faster on my PC that Internet Explorer and takes up less space, thereby saying time and electricity. Download new Noia Fox free browser skin so I have a new-look browser for no cost. It feels like I have a new PC! Done.
:heart2: Read newspapers online. Done.
:heart2: Download free software from http://www.greeneclipse.com/stickypad.html to put vitual Post-It notes on my PC desktop so I no longer have to buy paper ones. Done.
:heart2: Celebrate that my mobile bill is 50p cheaper than I was expecting. Done.
:heart2: Consider making my knitted blanket larger to keep me warmer.
:heart2: List camera on eBay. Done.
:heart2: Do my OHs finances. OH is easily baffled! Done.
:heart2: Sell the intellectual rights to one of my university essays on www.papers4u.com and another on http://paperwhiz.com/ and see which service is better.
:heart2: Post off eBay sale. Use http://www.postal-rates.co.uk/ to get the price as the RoyalMail website has broken down (again). Done.
:heart2:

LLP take care.
ziggy2407 But boring and repetitive things are important too: think what happens if you don't brush your teeth, for example.

Morning gang, and thanks to ally for starting us off today. It's the start of my weekend - a Stitching Witch day today :j DH is moaning that I have no orders at present, but I'm concentrating on getting stuff done for the Christmas Fair so I'm not unduly worried. It might not make me as much money as a couple of corset orders but it'll still be money in the bank.

My small things so far:- breakfast from stores
- washing up done on Economy 7 electricity
- fed and watered the chickens and reminded them of why they are there (no eggs at all yesterday)
- checked banking
- checked for surveys
- spend the morning in the sewing room
- lunch from stores
- keep an eye on surveys - not far to go now
- pay cash from DH into bank to try to stay in the black this month

- collect DGD from school and look after her at DD's house
- dinner and coffee from DD's stores
- get diesel at cheapest filling station

hi clarrisa happy maternity to you and yes we are a mad (but frienldly) bunch around here...
Stitchy enjoy your stitching!
Ok plans for the day are:
* checked banking - received 88p interest :rotfl:
* did vsp and will update sig and post on vsp thread
* all meals from stores - pea and mint soup out of freezer for lunch, makeral out of freezer for dinner mmmmm
* tidying round the bedrooms tonight now that the electrician has finished the rewiring - OMG thank goodness that is done. My equilibrium was on the edge there for a moment!
* get a good bottle of red for friend's wedding gift tomorrow
* sainos have 25% off of a case of wine now so going to go and get a couple of cases
* watch a film on my free lovefilm trial with oh tonight
* have woke up with a cold so have remembered to go and get some generic cold remedies
* borrowed a pashmina for tomorrow's wedding rather than buying another
* put sheets over the heated clothes dryer to speed it up - still alot cheaper than a tumble and will heat the house for when we get in
* call first utility and clarify if we use less energy than we have estimated will we get a reduction/refund with a fixed tarrif?
* reserved a book at the library rather than bought it off of Amazon :money:
Oh am very pleased with myself. Last night was very tired and considering a chinese takeaway but instead got some prawns out of the freezer and made a kinda prawn arabata dish :money:
ok think that's it! Have a good Friday everyone :ADF as at 30/12/16

Hope everyone is feeling good today! It's Friday and I'm finally home and settled. Thank goodness.
Ally, thanks for the note about ebay! Looking forward to finding some more things to sell.
Big hugs, LPP.
Pern, I hope things went okay.
I'm mostly checking in today to say that my biggest DFW thing I did today was to cycle to work! I'm so pleased with myself. I got a new bike yesterday (£50 second hand from a friend's Mum) but I think it is a worthy investment! I'll be saving £1.90 a day, and hopefully shedding the other kind of pounds as I go. =P0
