Taking a holiday whilst on JSA

Hi everyone
This is a follow up post to one I posted yesterday
I have been made redundant and after 35 years of working I am going to claim benefits for the 1st time
I have been told I can get £71 pw contribution based JSA for 6 months (I have savings) I have my 1st appointment at the job centre tomorrow.
My question is this. I am thinking of taking a 3 week holiday next month whilst I am not working, will my benefit be stopped because I am not seeking work? If so will the 3 weeks come of my 6 months entitlement or will they add it on (so I can claim 6 months benefits in total if needed)
Hope this makes sense
Thanks again

Sorry to hear your news; I'll be in a similar position in a month or so.
I don't know the rules on holidays, but in case you didn't know, I've found that the JSA is taxable. I'm thinking of delaying starting my claim to April.0 -
You are allowed to take two weeks holiday in the UK without your claim being stopped. Just tell them the dates.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Thanks for the reply
Will I have to sign on somewere else whilst away?0 -

AFAIK, you sign a holiday form at your local jobcentre before you go and have to provide them with a contact phone number. AFAIK, you don't need to sign on elsewhere.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Yes it is a taxable benefit but you do not actually pay tax upon it, you will receive the full £71 due."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
