Hi All
I have a quick query, whilst rooting around in our bank statements I came across my hubby's CC statements circ.early 1990's which had ppi on them. He didn't realise or remember, 20 years ago and all that (bless him)... My question is as he was employed by his father in the family business, would the ppi have been likely to pay out if he got sick? Or is this only applicable to self employed?
And if it wouldn't have paid out, is this a worthy complaint for a claim?
Many thanks
Steph

Hi there
I am not 100% as it can vary from one business to the other, maybe worth trying to find out the exclusions going back then, how long was the account running for?The one and only "Dizzy Di"

As di says, it varies. You need to phone the insurer and ask if he was covered or not. Take the name of the person, date and time of call and note the phone number you rang on. If they say he was not covered then you complain (and make reference to the person you spoke to). If they say he was then it is not a complaint reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). He still has the same account!!! Although PPI is no longer paid on the card (do not know when this stopped).
Definitely worth a phone call. Also have now come across some loan documents which he said he had to have ppi for (banks terms) and the right to cancelled box has been crossed out, i.e. he couldn't cancelled if he wanted to! Is this worthy of a claim? (dated late 80's & early 90's).
Many thanks to both replies.0
