I downloaded an application called Desura by mistake, I cannot now uninstall it. Whether or not it is harmful I do not know.
When I try uninstall though Windows 7 Control Panel it appears to accept the command but nothing happens, when I try to repeat the command it says that the uninstall is working but nothing happens, this can go on for ages.
Can anyone suggest how to lose it?
I am not particularly adept at computer stuff so simplistic instructions would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Peat

In Task Manager Processes do you see desura.exeI think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0

I cannot see desura in task manager processes.
I have not tried a system restore
Withabix - means nothing to me!0 -
Desura isn't harmful. It's software provided by a company that allows games downloaded straight to your pc rather than bought from a shop in a box. Much like Direct2Drive, Steam etc. so don't worry about it causing harm.
At the same time, if you want rid of it then that is fair enough. If you follow Withabix's advice. I know it looks complicated but it isn't. All you need to do is open the command prompt and copy the text in red into it.
To open a command prompt on Windows 7:
Click on the start button, all programs, accessories, Command Prompt.
Copy and Paste the red text from the link Withabix gave and run it.0 -
I don't think desura downloaded and installed correctly in the first place which is probably why it won't uninstall.
The further instructions on how to follow withabix's advice is very helpfull,
Cheers all0
