help with section 75 claim

I bought a sofa & chair for £1000 two & a half years ago , the sofa is splitting along the seams & metal can be felt in the seat back making it uncomfortable to sit on. The recline mechanism in the chair has snapped so it is impossible to recline.
I only recently read on here that I might be able to claim for faulty goods as it was paid through my credit card. The shop where I bought the furniture has gone out of business. I have sent a section 75 claim letter & copies of the receipt to my credit card company three weeks ago (signed for) but had no reply. Please can any one advise if I have any chance of a successful claim & what to do next ?

Ring them up and ask for an update.
Card issuers usually fight s75 claims so be prepared for a long haul. You may need to get an independant report confirming what the fault is.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
