Biological washing powder for biological soiling! Enzymes etc, no need for fancy products just bio powder, I wash NAPPIES in that and they smell fine, hanging on the line in the sun really helps too.

Buy some of this stuff below, I bought some recently from Pets at Home and I think it was £7.99 but it DOES work.

If it can get rid of the smell of cat pee (someones cat keeps squirting on my patio pots) it will get rid of anything.

Please give it a try, you will be amazed how it will take away the smell.

It doesn't show this bottle on their site but you will find it instore (it used to be in a white bottle but they have changed the colour and the smell is nicer).

I put some into an empty spray bottle and just give things a good squirt, the smell goes almost immediately.

By the way, I have tested this on one of my daughter's school shirts (she has only just started using deo and her aim wasn't brilliant!), the smell vanished straight away.

I can not rec this product enough, it is fantanstic.

I won't be without it now.

    ;)

Forgot to mention another couple of times that I have used it.

We aquired a tent off freecycle which was clean but had a musty smell to it. I sprayed all of the tent walls and it took the smell away. Plus that bl**dy cat peed on the outside of the tent when we left it up in the garden to air.

The spray got rid of that too.

The other time I used it was when we stayed in a holiday flat which was lovely and clean BUT, they had carpet in the bathroom which had quite an unpleasant smell to it.

A good spraying before we went out for a couple of hours and it smelled quite pleasant when we came back.

    ;)

Oops, nearly forgot, a bottle of milk leaked in the boot and although I thought I had thoroughly cleaned it, it started to smell.

Used the spray again on that and it took it straight away.

    ;)

The cause of the body-odour needs to be addressed as well as appropriate laundering. For anyone with problem perspiration I would recommend they look into using Odaban or Linden Voss

Same problem here, I often end up washing things twice. If I get chance every so often I soak in has hot water as I date with some biological powder. Just using biological powder in the washing machine is not enough in the hotter weather.

and just don't ask about socks.......

Yes i thought the above quote might have been a bit of a give-away that the machine has broken down :rotfl::rotfl:. Well in all fairness his g/f does all the washing so i should say it's hers .

Thanks for all the replies :A.

I used the vinegar and water solution and when my son popped round he seemed pleased with the results and said they do not smell of B.O any more, so it must have worked :D:T.

    Hi rigsby,

I'm glad you managed to get the smell out. Now that you're sorted I've added your thread to the existing one on getting the smell of sweat out of clothes to keep the suggestions together.

  • am sure its been answered before but how can i get sweaty t-shirts and school shirts smelling properly clean.
got 3 smelly teenagers (are they all this bad???)
i use a decent powder/liqued and wash using either 30 or deg wash (not a quick eco one) i line dry as often as poss but when i come to iron they often still stink of sweat. school shirts are only worn for 1 school day and t shirts nearly always only 1 normal day.
have tried vanish and ariel in wash stuff but no luck. would softener work?
what can i add use to de-stink my laundry?
