Hotpoint Gas Hob leaking

Strictly, under the Sale of Goods Act, any remedy for the problem must not cause you 'significant inconvenience'. However, this is not really defined. Also, your rights under the SoGA are with the retailer not Hotpoint.
Given this, there's not really a lot you can do. You'd have to cancel the contact with Hotpoint and go to the retailer, who would in turn contact Hotpoint - then if they cannot effect a repair without taking a long period they should supply a replacement or a refund.
Probably just one to keep hassling Hotpoint about.0 -
Have you thought about getting a canary? Thats a well proven early warning system.
Although once it backfired as the canary dropped dead so we all ran out of the house. As we were standing outside in the rain waiting for the gas man we discovered nobody had fed the canary for a few days.
We went back inside.0 -
