Royal London policy issues

When my daughter was a baby there was a Royal London policy taken out for her which was meant to mature when she was 18. Shes now turned 18 and was trying to find out the details of this policy. I know it was sent to "paid up" status some years backOn speaking to the Royal London she was told that she would need at letter of authority from the policyholder. However they will not tell her who the policyholder was- either myself or her father.
Now this is where the problem lies, she has not had contact with her father for some years. And the RL state that if the policy was in his name they will send him a cheque. Surely this cannot be right, this was the policy that was taken out to benefit her
Where do we go from here? Her older sister managed to receive her policy money a couple of years ago without all this

He DIDNT pay the money, I did when we were together- the policy was changed to "paid up" after i had to move out due to domestic violence
We know WHERE he is, but he refuses to talk to either daughter and wont write letter they are asking from him, which BTW they are saying he needs to sign with both his and daughters address on. He doesnt know our address- due to the violence
My eldest daughter i spoke to today said she rang hem up, they asked her lots of questions, located the policy and then sent her cheque, Unsure why its different this time, the policy shouldve paid out daughter 2 on reaching 180 -
It is a case of who the policyholder is - if it is your ex, unfortunately irrespective of who paid the premiums the policyholder is the person who will receive the proceeds.
If he is the PH and it was paid up, there is another possibility that he has surrendered the policy and already had the money - don't want to upset you but that is a possibility.
If you are unsure if you are the PH then phone Royal London and try to find out - if you are the PH then all well and good. They will tell you if you are the PH or not. If you are not the PH then by deduction it will be your ex.
There were different types of policies sold as well - some were paid out in the childs name some in the parents -they may not have been identical if they were sold a different times.Used to be an advisor but no longer!
