Quick question on comparisons
Apologies as I'm sure this has already been asked numerous times, but i don't frequent this board very often.
I am doing a comparison as my decent tariff with Scottish Power is coming to end. As a very low user, the lowest price is coming out as nPower's Energy Online January 14.
Martin is saying not to switch unless you want a fix, as you should wait to see what happens to prices from the other providers. But as nPower has already announced their price increase, will the comparison already be taking their increase into account? And if so, there's no point hanging on as it will still be the best tariff once EDF and Eon raise prices?
Or will the comparison be based on nPower's 'current' prices, but assuming them for the year, as the increase that has been announced won't be in force until 26th November? In which case I should leave it as long as possible before spending too much time on Scottish Power's standard tariff?
Thanks for your help!

You should double check directly with the supplier (perhaps using their website) if a variable rate tariff you plan to move to is affected by the recent rise announcement, and if so, then check the new rates are reflected in the comparison site you used (or make an allowance accordingly).0 -
