My Ebay list question?

I'm selling some stuff on eBay, I have an item for sale and the buyer worries me slightly, but I have it under control.
However, in "my ebay" list it says that I have received 7 bids, but it is still only at 99p, how is that?
Also, in my other auctions it tells me who the bidder is on the home page, but this auction it says the highest bidder is private.
Finally, the bidder has feedback score of 1, yet has a ME rating of 100%.

You would have had 7 bids because the initial bidder keeps increasing their maximum bid, they must really want it lol. The bidder would choose to be private - i think that is not a problem. As for your last query I can't help you with that one I'm afraid x0

This means that the bidder initially placed bid of 99p and since then they have increased their maximum bid 6 times.
Some buyers do this to discourage other people from bidding as someone who know how the system works will realise that the current bidder is willing to pay a lot more than 99p.
When you go to your homepage you have to log in to ebay so you will see the id of the bidders. If however you just look at the listing without logging in then the id will be hidden. Also, in my other auctions it tells me who the bidder is on the home page, but this auction it says the highest bidder is private.
The other option is that it is just the bidder's feedback that is shown as prvate and this is what you are seeing.
All this means is that they have only received one feedback in the past year and that one was positive. Finally, the bidder has feedback score of 1, yet has a ME rating of 100%.0 -
some development:
Bidding has been good, our boy still holds the trump card however I can see that the 2nd placed bidder looks much more favourable and was up to a price I would be happy with.
Is it ethical to let our boy bid me up left right and centre, and then cancel his bid at the 11th hour?
He has a FB score of 1 and my listing clearly states that under 10 need to clear with me before bidding...Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -
The fact you state that in your listing is meaningless tbh as it is something you cannot enforce unless you manually cancel his bid.some development:

But why are you worried about your bidder? we all have to start somewhere, you yourself was once a bidder with a score of one.Surely you would have not been pleased if someone treated you the way you want to treat your bidder.0 -
I would agree with you and usually I have no quarms about zero FB bidders, or 1 in this case, but his questions have been a little forward, like what address does he want me to send the cheque to.
With 5 days left to run this (and a few other things) have made me a little cautious.Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -
