Urgent help please - any plumbers online

Not sure if this is something I can sort out myself or if I need to get a plumber in.
Water was very slow draining from bathroom sink. Tried soda crystals and water and also baking soda/vinegar and water.
Didn't clear it so I very hesitantly took the u bend off to clean it. Never done this before so was very worried about getting it back on. Managed to get the u bend back on but when I turn the water on, it is flooding out the pipe further down where it goes into my tiles. I didn't touch this part of the pipe. I've tried tightening it a bit but it hasn't made any difference.
Anything I can do - would have to be basic as I really am a complete novice at plumbing. If I'm likely to make things worse, I will call the plumber.

Mister Muscle Bathroom Sink and Drain Gel.
+1 for that stuff.
Did you put everything back on as it came off - it would appear you haven't reassembled the u-bend joint to the pipe going through the wall properly. Take it off again and have a look. There should be the collar, small thin plastic washer (often red in colour) then a rubber sealing washer that fits tight over the pipe. This is tapered and the tapered side should face away from the collar.
Try reassembling it and make sure the above connection is done up tight.0 -
