Any company that ends with the name 'ventures' is best to be avoided in my opinion.

Corrollary to Pelz's rule....along with "Never play cards with a man named Doc".

    Is this the outfit : http://bmvpropertyinvestment.weebly.com/property-sellers.html ?

If so, they look suspiciously like quick sale merchants. Paint a cross on your door and dont invite them in. Nothing good comes of these companies.

If you want to get your driveway re-paved, approach several reputable local builders and get quotes. Don't give the job to the chap with a van who happens to knock on your door and say he'll do it cheap.

Yeah and I bet it's risky free too.

You wont get anything like 90%. I doubt you'll get 60%. These companies are well known for gouging people when they are well into the process and in no position to tell them where to stick their new 'offer' a week before exchange.

    Its a scam, steer clear.

94% of what? The quick sale firm's asking price? What does that prove? I doubt anyone here will look up the sold prices and compare against similar nearby properties.

Anyway, you obviously are one of those companies so we're not likely to hear a fair story and others are likely to be reaching for that spam button...

    94% of market value.

Who sets market value? The Market; thousands of buyers and sellers using Rightmove and Zoopla daily. Most of the properties displayed on Flying Homes' website have had the price set in this manner.
so you rake up a thread from more than 1 year ago to indulge in very late damage limitation posts from a newbie.

Oooh look what is your own home page, its one of the named companies.

please read the forum rules - if posting about businesses in which you have an interest you must declare this.

reported for breach of forum rules, no deformation here ...

I might be able to shed some light on this company for you.

I've been speaking with a few "buy your home quick" companies. We're not getting repossessed/divorced, we just want to move sharpish. I know that using one of these companies will incur a hit, but we need to upsize and we accept that. That doesn't mean I'm not proceeding with caution.

A company came on Tuesday to look round the house, which we seemed quite happy with but I always explore the market. I've been speaking with 20+ companies and it's becoming tiresome now!

Anyway, narrowing it down between SLK Ventures (many other names) and another company I was a bit bemused today. I was offered a sale of £125k on my house (valued at £130k). I was suspicious because:

    - The man that came round on Tuesday spent time and effort looking into all aspects of the house, taking notes and measurements etc. He also asked for evidence on when the house was rewired, EPC certificate, when the boiler was installed etc. It was only after an hour he asked what figures we had in mind and discussed how he would put it out to investors at our minimum asking price. I can't remember the name of the legislation (Misselling of Homes ??) which required evidence of when things like boilers were done

    - Flying Homes did none of that. The guy was in my house no longer than 10 minutes, that included the sales pitch.

    - They've given me a brochure which has numerous quotes:

.. "We work closely with reputable companies like Flying Homes to find properties for sale and with companies like 4sale2u to handle the sales process" - These are both companies owned by SLK Ventures.

.. You are tied in for 6 months, and theres a lot of speel about how you're bound in.

    - SLK also own BMVScrapyard.com - Just look for yourself. Even the SLK Ventures websites talks about how they get knocked down property for investors. So, they offer me just £10k below market value, no fees etc. Where is their profit?

It's simple - we'd get to the point where we put an offer in on another property, a week before the move and a revised, considerably lower offer would arrive.

Never trust companies with several subsidiaries, you're asking for bother. If a company is reputable and well respected, they'd stick to the one name.

Alternatively, you can head over to Facebook and check the reviews. Their Facebook page is under 'Flying Homes'. However, do your research and all the people who have voted 5 stars ... yup ... they work for SLK. :T

I've commented on the Director's review, he says he does get a 5* service off them - well - who'd have thunk it!

Steer well clear - and I'll let you know how I get on with this other company.
