PC to TV

Now trying to connect my PC to my TV.
Although plenty of slots on the back off the TV, = PC in, and HDMI in .On the rear of my PC I only have a 10 pin [blue] male plug next to the monitor plug in. And usb connecters.
Is it this connection I have to use, and what is the cable I have to get?
Or are there alternatives.
I was going into buying a smart blu ray player but not getting anywhere fast with that idea.

If you've got a PC in slot on your TV, can you not just use a standard VGA monitor cable that looks like this:

What connections/cable does your monitor use? Can you not just use that?

I want the TV to be an extra outlet only used now and then. And do not want to take the monitor lead out. Laziness really.

It sounds like the OP already has dual outputs as they mention "10 pin [blue] male plug next to the monitor plug in".

If I were you, I'd try unplugging the monitor and plugging the same cable into the TV, just to check it works and you've got the right connections (I'm not 100% on what you have based on your description). If that works ok, then just buy the same cable for a couple of quid and you should be ok to run both the TV and monitor at the same time, or swap between them as and when neededwithout faffing with cables.

You haven't mentioned what connections your PC has. If it has an HDMI out, you're laughing, as all you need is 1 HDMI cable (you might want to buy a long one on eBay or similar).
If you've only got a VGA (that blue connector with loads of pins) you need to connect that to the PC IN VGA connector on the back of the TV. This is the kind of cable that has connected computers to monitors for years so you might have one lying around. It only carries the picture, so you need another cable for the sound.
