The blue box?

Hi guys!
Hoping all is well with everyone. I’ve hot-footed it over here in urgent need of your ‘tech-spertise’. I would deeply appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.
Yesterday, a bright blue box appeared smack in the middle of my screen with the title, ‘Brightness’ on it. This box is the contrast options box for my flat screen monitor.
I didn’t summon it and it appears at random, staying for different amounts of time and then disappearing again.
I’m running Windows 7 and I’ve tried switching the monitor on and off, the pc on and off and also shouting at it, to no avail. Is my monitor on the way out or have I hit something on the keyboard to cause this? I really need your advice on this one, guys as I’m quite poorly and rely on my pc heavily and a new one is not something I can afford right now
Thank you for reading this and for your time, folks.:A
Be kind to yourself.
Much Love,

It is your monitor, nothing to do with the PC. Have you/does something accidentally knock the 'menu'/'settings'/any button on the monitor by accident? A keyboard slightly too close with the corner tapping one of the sensitive buttons would cause this.0

Thank you for replying. :A
Could I have pressed something on the keyboard to cause this? The keyboard isn't close to the monitor itself, angel so don't think I hit that.
I appreciate your help, hun.:T

It is very unlikely that you could press anything on the computer itself as it is a monitor setting. Try pressing the buttons on your monitor to work out which it is that causes this, it may become more obvious if something presses it by accident/the cat hits it? If nothing touches those buttons and it comes and goes, it sounds like a monitor fault to me, but let's see what other people suggest too
In the meantime, are you able to post up any photos of how it looks in case I am misimagining it and something else becomes obviosu? Also be good to get the model number of the monitor. It might help, it might not, but at least the guys here will have more possible ideas with more info!0 -
Sounds to me that a random temporal shift has caused a transcendental anomaly resulting in the doctors Tardis trying to materialise via your PC monitor. Or you have pressed a menu button? That gum you like is coming back in style.0
