made mistake on my tax credit renewal

Hi tax credits have written to me to say figure I put on my tax credits renewal is not the same as my p60 info. Having looked at my p60 I can see that I have put the wrong figure down for my income. I have sent them a copy of my p60. What will happen now? I know I have an overpayment and will pay it back but will I be called in for interview or prosecuted for providing incorrect info?

Most likely they will correct it and you will have to repay the overpayment. They don't normally give penalties, although they can.

Prosecution extremely unlikely, particularly if it was a mistake.
