Quick query which i hope someone may be able to answer.

We have arranged a Mortgage with Natwest and also told them to go ahead with a Home buyers survey and obviously they do a Valuation too.

I have a print out of all the costs etc and in the breakdown box all i see is Valuation Fee £361 along with a Valuation admin fee of £75 but no mention of Home buyers Survey

When i asked at the time they mentioned the price was for a Valuation and Survey (Home buyers) combined.

Does £361 seem right for a Valuation and Survey? it's just confusing me because it only mentions Valuation on my letter.

Comments

  • Ours was £242 (survey £168 + £75 admin fee) for the valuation and home buyers report. Maybe the price differs depending on area or price (e.g. we're buying for £125,000). Once we instructed, they had done it and sent us and the solicitors the report within a week so were very quick! That was with Nat West a couple of weeks ago.

Here's a copy of the scale from the intermediary site.

Assuming your purchase price is £100k to £250k, it's £75;-

+ £167 for a basic mortgage report and valuation
    or
+ £361 for a basic mortgage report and valuation PLUS a Homebuyer's Report.

Your's seems cheap! compared to mine and i asked for the same - Homebuyers survey and the Natwest Valuation plus the £75 admin, very odd!!

Looks like both are lumped in just under Valuation.

    Duly thanked.
