Scottish Power Fixed Rate 2013
A few weeks ago I changed utility supplier and took up the offer of the "Fixed Rate Sept 2013" offer from Scottish Power
I was attracted by the wording of "No cancellation fees".
ie, leave when you like
I now find reading their T and C, this appears not to be true.
" we may apply our cancellation charges of £30.64 for electric and £20,42 for Gas + Vat if you change cancel or switch supplier
The free cancellation only applies to a contract change if you move home"
My question is this:-
(a) have these T and C`s changed since I enrolled with SP
(b) have I been misled by the liberal use of "no cancellation fees" which I read via a recommendation on this web site.

You can change to any other plan with Scottish Power without penalties at any time too, so you aren't necessarily locked in to those prices if prices do happen to come down at all during that time.0

Well to me, their headline banner of "No cancellation charges" only applies if you leave early and move house.
I suppose it a question of ignoring headline banners but read the small print.
Yes, I appreciate I can move products with SP without penalties0 -
We do have products that have no cancellation charges at all but this does not apply to all products, some do have cancellation charges if you change product or supplier before the end of the term. Its best to check before you take a product.
