potterton suprima 40 advice

Hi,

i have a potterton suprima which has played up over the years and has required the obligatory pcb's, motorised valves etc......all under an extended warranty plan, of which i am destined to use again!

Before guys come out to look i wondered if anyone may shed some light/thoughts on what my problem could be........

came home the other morning to a cold house.....room stat clicked on, boiler no response, but not locked out, Boiler fires up and heats HW no probs and can check that with the tank stat, but fails to respond or occasionally will try and respond to room stat...........motorised valve seem slow too!

I changed the 3 port valve to one which i had from a previous failure time , knowing it didnt work, but at least boiler was firing up with this fitted.so could valve cause these probs? can i rule out pcb, timer control etc as HW ok, and point towards room stat and valve?

any comments appreciated, thanks.
