Hello all... hope this is the right place...
Does anyone happen to know the best place to get Celotex PL4065 (65mm PL4000) for a good price? I have done all the searches but perhaps someone knows something I dont?
I have bought 9 and it has cost me £403.81 total, including delivery but I need lots more.
Thanks for any help!
Luke

do you definately need that specific board? if you are more flexible in your needs you may find that you may get more insulation for your money
you may get a 60mm celotex board and add the plasterboard yourself, its common for local suppliers to stock insulations in increments of 25mm e.g 50/75/100mm etc0 -
Try Sheffield insulation they have branches all over country0

Hi all...
Thanks for the info. As it happens I went for the PL4065 as I had to get the project moving. It is expensive, and knowing what I know now I would perhaps go for something else, but it has done the job well.
Thanks again!0 -
I did research a few years ago, Luke, some firm called Seconds.
They also sell by the lorry load, delivery extra.0 -
Thanks for that Ken. If I need more I will take a look! Think I found them when I was researching but for some reason I didnt use them. Cant remember why now.0

Have a look at ACTIS insulation, excellent u values and nowhere near as thick as Celotex or Kingspan.
I used it a good few years ago on a loft conversion I was doing, building regs had never seen it so was a bit hesitant in signing off till I showed him the teck spec of the stuff, he read it and said thats fine, its something like 25mm of actis is equivalent to 160mm of kingspan but that might not be bang on as I say its some years ago now.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Just had a quick look at that stuff... seems very interesting! My hallway is quite narrow and I cant really fit celotex in there, this seems to fit the bill perfectly! How easy did you find it to install?0

Multi foil insulation performance is diffrent from Board insulation performance. No way would one layer of a multi foil perform the same as 160mm of Celotex.
Here is a fairly in depth discussion. http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/forum114/comments.php?DiscussionID=125&page=1
I also have client that has used multfoil for a roof and building control won't sign it off, they will have to strip the plasterboard and put in celotex as well.0 -
Cant find the link for the celotex equivalent but this one if for mineral wool http://www.insulation-actis.com/documentations/84pdf3.pdf actis equivalent to 210mm mineral wool insulation.
Installation of it was a doddle, took me two days if I remember to do our loft conversion, I stapled straight onto roof trusses, sealed the joints with aluminium foil tape, then 25mm battern on top of that then boarded over.
Looking into it further another multifoil insulation product might be better as they have got certification which says building controlhave to accept its use, this being Gen-x http://www.euroform.co.uk/genx_what_is.shtmlYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
