Hi, could someone offer any advice please?
I have sold an item, for £17 plus postage, sent item on 2nd October first class recorded, I have tracking number.
Item has not turned up at buyers yet and al website says is I have to wait 15 working days before making a claim. However, I do not have the original receipt for the item that will be required when I make a claim after the fifteen days. Is there anything else I can do in order to get anything back for the lost item?? Or is provision of the original receipt the only thing RM will accept?
Your thoughts please,
Many thanks xx

Hi thanks for reply, but I don't have that.
I have had the item for sometime, and didn't realise.
Thanks0 -
The Royal Mail claim form also asks for a Paypal Transaction number - I think I also printed off the transaction from Paypal as well, but I did have the proof of posting receipt as well.
As regards value, the item I had to claim for was originally a gift so I had no idea what it cost and said so on the form. They gave me back what I had been paid on Paypal plus the postage I paid.
They may accept the Paypal transaction and your tracking number.
Hope that helps a bit.0 -
Great, I will try that!

Have you contacted the Royal Mail to check whether its sat at the sorting office waiting for collection by the buyer. Some people don't get the "while you were out " card left by the postman so have no idea its at the sorting office.
Phone the sorting office direct, you can google the delivyer officer that covers the buyers address. If you have done that phone Royal Mail and ask them to update their systems, it might have been delivered and the site not updated.
I have made claims for ebay lost items twice now and both times Royal Mail accepted the ebay invoice as proof of value.
good luck
