Gl24 - do they acknowledge receipt

HI,
I sent in the GL24 almost 2 weeks ago. Sent it first class recorded. I haven't checked if it's been signed for yet as I left the receipt in the house.
But can anyone tell me if they send out a letter to acknowledge they've recieved it, and if so, do you think 2 weeks is a bit long to wait to hear?
I shall ring them when I can get to the jobcentre to use the phones, but I just thought I'd ask here first.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Hi all,
I got a call yesterday from the jobcentre telling me I had to go in for a work-focused interview and that I have to attend.
I explained that I have submitted an appeal stating I feel that I should be in the Support Group and she said there was nothing on the computer! So I'll have to go.
Luckily I sent my appeal recorded so I'm hoping that I will be allowed to go ahead with the appeal.
I've typed a letter to send to the benefit agency with a copy of the recorded post receipt. Am I doing everything right?
Also, the woman was a bit arsey with me when I asked for an afternoon appointment as I'm really bad in the morning. she said she'd already booked one for me and I said could she please unbook it and give me a later one - which she did.
Then she said that it was on the first floor but there was a lift, but if there's a fire or lift broke then I would have to use the stairs - so I requested that I be seen downstairs as I don't know what I'm like from one day to the next. She did this but seemed quite put out. From what I recall, the building is all open plan and I'm reluctant to divulge any personal health problems - not so much to her, but I don't want the world and his wife knowing my business, expecially as the office is in my local town and you never know who hears your business. So, do they ask loads of personal questions and would I be considered 'an awkward beggar' if I say I want some privacy before divulging my story?
Years ago they wouldn't give me my NI No over the phone on the basis that I may not be who I said I was - fair enough. Yet when I rang the esa line from their phones I was having to give all sorts of details over - date of birth, address, NI number etc and the place was packed! I'm surprised no-one legged it along to my house to rob it - as they knew I wasn't in!0 -

I was told I had to go to my WFI despite appealling to go into the support group. I was just sent an appointment but the advisor said that I didn't have to go but that if I wanted I could be sent to a work programme which I declined! Apparently appeals are taking 8-10 months and then if I don't go into the support group I will be forced to comply. She talked of working 16hours per week helping me get better which is ridiculous as I often haven't even the energy to have a shower far less work regularly!:mad:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Hi,
What exactly happens at the work focused interviews please?
Does it make any difference to the amount of times you have to attend if you're appealing the esa decision to be placed in the wrag group?0 -
"What exactly happens at the work focused interviews please?"
