Just been told i've been transferred from IB to Esa Wrag, but..

when I explained to the women on the phone I had'nt had an Atos medical and does this mean I've been transferred on the strength of my Esa 50 and would not be requiring a medical?
Her answer was.."I can't answer that question" Does this mean you can still be called for a medical even though a decision has been made?
I mean she was very clear on the phone, telling me the exact date in november when my IB will become ESA (Wrag) and the length of time the award is for (18 months).
Slightly baffled, anyone any thoughts?
Thanks.

You will not be called for a medical once the decision has been made, a good number of claims are transferred without a medical.0

Yes, that is what I thought. I just could'nt understand why the woman on the phone was'nt able to tell me that. Hopefully I'll get a letter confirming it soon.
I'm happy to be in WRAG. If it does what it says on the tin and assists disabled people back into work, i reckon it will be an ideal route for me.0 -
So you've been successfully transferred from IB to ESA WRAG.
A medical will not always be required... when ATOS are contacted to provide their advice they'll use ESA50 (if you complete it) and any other evidence available (such as that which you send with ESA50) to determine if they have sufficient information to give their opinion of you in relation to the WCA. If they don't then they may ask GP to complete a form to confirm some facts or if that would be insufficient they'll order a face to face medical. If a medical is conducted then an ESA85 ATOS medical report is comprehensive advice to DWP on you regarding the WCA. When it isn't conducted then a shorter document ESA85A ATOS report is created and sent to DWP as the advice.
In your case presumably the ESA85A was provided and suggested WRAG for 18 months and the DWP probably 'rubber stamped' it. I would suggest you ask for copy of the ESA85A ATOS report from the DWP.. number at top of DWP ESA letters. That should give indication of why you've landed up in WRAG.
At reassessment which looks likely to be in around 18 months' time you'll be subject to another WCA and the procedure is effectively the same. You cannot be found fit for work without a face to face medical unless you fail to comply with requests to engage such.
There is an option to appeal if you felt you qualified for support group... there would be risk of losing entitlement."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0
