nPower current tariff exit penalty
My current tariff with nPower has an exit penalty attached if I switch to another tariff or to another provider. However I vaguely recall reading that if a provider announces tariff increases then you are entitled to switch penalty-free - is that true? Am I mis-remembering something else?

Often the tariffs you switch to are fixed for the minimum commitment period, so the recent price increases may not affect you until next year when your current tariff expires.0

I'm interested in the answer too. The tarriff isn't fixed for me so the question remains the same.
Can you switch, penalty free, if the provider changes the price during the minimum period?0 -
if its not fixed normaly you can, if its fixed its not going to increase your prices anyway is it?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Don't forget npower effectively charge TWO exit fees if you take into account the annual discount paid in arrears that is already (imo wrongly) in the figures you see on the switching sites. Leave within the first 12 months and you not only pay the 'official' exit fee but you also 'pay' this unofficial exit fee as well. And it can be as much as £105, plus the 'proper' exit fee. Not good.0

This was on my SP homepage
" You may have seen in the news that ScottishPower has announced a price increase which is effective on 3rd December 2012.
Please be advised that the deal you're on means your prices and discounts are unaffected."0
