Barclays guaranteed transaction fees

Hello Everyone,
I am very confused by the Barclay's fees. I keep getting £8 charges on a weekly basis and got it all wrong.
Often I use online or mobile banking to move money around between two accounts. So I move money into this account often to make a payment with my card that day. But I have now found out that money added that day does not count. I am guessing that includes any salary or other income. Sometimes I get money in my account on Saturdays but does not actually clear until Monday but I can actually still use my card.
So now I just need some advice HOW to avoid these charges???
I know I need to have cleared funds in the account. But I am still confused. We are currently changing things around where we use cash for most things and just have our bills come out of our bank account. I.e. we get paid on the 25th and planning for direct debits/standing orders to come out on the 28th. Will I avoid charges this way???

We can't help unless you tell us the reason why the charges are being applied. Is it unauthorised overdraft, unpaid cheques, returned direct debits, etc.?0

It seems that you are trying to use your card when you don't have sufficient funds available. Ie, your balance is, say £100, but your available balance is £10, and you try to withdraw £100. Always check your "Available Balance" (not current balance) before withdrawing funds.
Personally, I'd schedule DDs and SOs to be paid 1 week after being paid (ie, aim for the 1st), just in case there is problems and you are paid late, but the 3 days you have given should be sufficient.0 -

Work out when your standing orders and direct debits go out. Amend the dates if necessary. Either way, know the dates.
Build a little bit of a buffer up in your account (e.g. £100).
Then work on two rules:
1. Never go below your buffer amount (£100).
2. Never spend money that's due to go out.0 -

In your case, two acounts may be one too many.0
