Sat Nav Suggestions Please

Hello,

Its my dad's birthday coming up and the family have decided to club together and buy him a sat nav, problem is none of us know anything about them, our budget is approx £150, he will only use it for weekends away (he is retired and goes away frequently), but is easily confused by complicated and modern devices so would prefer a user friendly device.

Any suggestions would be a great help

Tina

Suggest you buy the Navman F20, has done well for me all over the country and also in London. It's a little slower in central London but overall I've found it great. I think it will come in under budget too!

I have a TomTom Go 510 - above your budget but if is anythng to go buy I would consider the TomTom One - The mapping is superb especially in the UK - the ones that use navtech aren't as good over here as they are in the states in my opinion - I use mine for work daily very easy to use. They don't have the nice widescreen that the 510 has but they weren't out when I got mine or I would have probably have gone for one of them - Have also dalt with their support team - They speak English - Not an Indian call center (well done TomTom). Hopefully you won't need to use the support but its nice to know its their and they are helpful.

On your budget its gotta be the tom tom one, I know someone who picked up a tom tom one version 2 with door to door mapping of western europe for less than £150 last week from http://www.totalpda.co.uk. including delivery and VAT. I belive it was a special offer but they seem to no longer have any left at that price.

If you look at the amazon reviews the f20 is cheaper and has better reviews than the tomtom one.
