I never knew that!! Please ignore this post.

Even though I was fully aware of that there is certainly nothing wrong in just reminding us.

I know someone who thinks credit cards are evil for a totally different reason. They wondered why anyone would use a credit card and pay interest when you can use a debit card and not have to. They didn't realise the "Pay off in full by due date and we will not charge you interest" condition.

I know lots of people like that. Or people who think there's no point in using a credit card if you pay in full. I guess they don't know about reward points, credit history, protection etc.

I also know people who think credit cards are evil incarnate "because they get you in debt".
    Oh, you wee bazza!

Indeed, I don't know if you remember when someone was posting on here and creating petitions to force banks to rename all "Credit Cards" as "Debt Cards" and even getting them to put "Debt Card" on the actual card itself. Needless to say, it didn't succeed, and wasn't very popular around these forums either.

Some years ago I knew someone who was a highly intelligent student. After long austerity years as a student, got his doctorate in chemistry and his first job as a research assistant.
His bank gave him a credit card with a high limit. He was over the moon, thinking that the bank gave him so much money because he is worth it!
He spent it all within a couple of months, couldn't keep up repayments and became a worried man.
