Switching electricity for students

Hello everyone I have a few questions regarding switching my tariff.
I am a student living in a 2 bedroom flat with my friend who is also a student and we just moved in in September past. We have the lease of the flat until May.

After seeing Martin on the telly I went searching to see could we get cheaper electricity bills (we don't have gas) and of course we can.

We will be moving out in May and there will probably be new tentants moving in shortly after. I was just wondering that if I lock into a fixed tariff, does that mean I have to pay the bill up until the contract ends (2012/2014) or where do I stand with regards to only living there for another few months? Is it worth my while changing?

Thanks in advance

You'll only be responsible for the period of your tenancy (assuming you provide the supplier with a closing bill reading then as I am sure you would)
When you end the supply due to moving, the supply contract ends (and no early termination charges either) :)
