    Isn't it a moot point anyway as the OP is currently in full time employment? I would imagine if he voluntarily gave up his job to do this unpaid work placement, any benefits he would ordinarily be entitled to would be sanctioned.

    Good point. Yes, those who quit their jobs without good cause can expect to be sanctioned for up to 6 months, though they can qualify for a lesser hardship sum. The govt don't want taxpayers to pay money to those who walk out of a job.

    The way around this is for the OP to get a temp job as when it comes to its natural end, the Job Centre will be satisfied as they only contact the last employer.
