AMD Turion 64 (x2?)

Hello,

Last week I purchased a new Acer Aspire 9301AWSMi 2 GHz laptop from Tesco. Its in the Tesco direct catologue page 759, the bottom one (cat no - 200-0060)

Next to the description in the book there is the processor logo, AMD Turion 64 x2, in the decription on the Tesco Website it shows the says the same logo minus the x2 but says "The Aspire 9301 combines value and Dual core performance in a stylish, easy-to-use package"

When it was delivered it is the standard AMD Turion 64 processor. So, is it dual core? Have I recieved the wrong processor? Should I take this up with Tesco or have I got what I thought I had ordered?

The chip you have isn't Dual Core. Think the page in the catalogue is misleading as the logo says dual core but the chip isn't.

The website description doesn't say dual core anymore either.

So you have what you ordered, though you might be able to argue vagueness?

its still says "The Aspire 9301 combines value and Dual core performance in a stylish, easy-to-use package" on the website though. This menas its dual core I would think?

Surly they can't can't something as important as the processor without notifying you on the website? They put up a clear notice that the graphics were different to advertised.

Agreed it does say that but it isn't. I would take it up with Tesco based on the internet advert.

Thank you Woo, I'm going to. I just wanted to clarify that my Turion isn't dual core, I'm don't know much about this!

I suppose they could argue that they are only claiming the equivalent performance as dual core, if thats feasible, but not actually saying that you will be receiving a dual core processor. All the same, it does seem misleading, at least, and there's always a chance that they will just refund rather than argue. Worth a try.

there are turion dual core chips the x2 - so do think it is a case of misleading

The laptop has the Turion 64x2 logo in the book and says dual core performance on the website, you can't get much more misleading than that!

How do you know this? Download and run WCPUID to check.

I did a Belarc audit, is that the same thing?

Not on that laptop right now otherwise I would try it.

I'd say Tesco web description is wrong.
