British Gas letter this morning

Hello all,

I feel a bit late to the saving party of fixing costs but I'm here now! :)

British Gas wrote to us this morning to outline their fix offer - we could fix at current price and if the standard cost falls, so will our bills. If we leave BG before end of fix period, we get charged £20.

Wow. Essentially: We'll put your bill up unless you sign a contract to remain with us and agree to pay us £20 if you leave. More of a threat than an offer, so I took a look around.

I found a 2 yr fix at First Utility surfing through from MSE that looks significantly better than our current British Gas solution so we're off. Thanks MSE for all the encouragement - that's several bottles of good champagne for our wedding.:T
