Smart meters
I came across this one while looking for a new electricity contract for next year.
"...that's 20p per day extra for the smart meter" so I said
"just a minute, that's in addition to the standing charge. But you didn't supply the meter, it was provided free by a previous supplier and you're suggesting that you charge an extra 20p to not come out and read my meter?"
To which the answer was "Yes but then you won't get estimated bills and we're more open than the others who will all charge for it anyway."
Is this true? If so, it's got to be a rip-off.
