BT mis-quoting

Been with BT a number of weeks now - my decision to switch was based on a number of things, including the price. However, I've now received an email from BT...
Apart from the ignorance of making a "!!!! up" and expecting me to contact THEM to sort it out, I'm incensed that they can back-track on a quote.
Theoretically, this could be a cracking scam for BT - quote a lower price at sign-up, then wait a few weeks and admit it was wrong and put it back, hoping that most people will simply stay with them. Surely, this can't be right can it?
Apart from cancelling my contract, do I have any recourse?
David.
You recently ordered a BT Infinity package with the Unlimited Anytime Plan Plus add-on from us.
Due to an error in our systems, the price quoted for the Unlimited Anytime Plan Plus add-on when you placed your order was incorrect. The price quoted was £3.10 however the correct price should have been £8.00.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience. Given that we quoted the wrong price to you when you placed your order, we will be removing this product from your account to avoid any further inconvenience. We will only be removing the Unlimited Anytime Plan Plus add-on, you will continue to receive BT Infinity and Unlimited Evening and Weekend calls.
If you are happy to go ahead with the Unlimited Anytime Plan Plus add-on at the correct price of £8.00 per month, please contact us by responding to this email or call us on 0800 731 0286 and we will reinstate it onto your account.
We apologise again for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks for choosing BT.

Looks like a genuine mistake by the agent to whom you spoke - quoting for the Unlimited Anytime Plan (inclusive 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 calls) instead of the Unlimited Anytime Plus Plan (inclusive 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 calls and calls to mobiles @ half price).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I didn't speak to an agent - this was what I was quoted on their website and in a follow-up email (which I have a copy of).
A mistake it may be, but why should I suffer when this was a "quote"?

If a genuine error - incompetence is allowed. If you can argue the bases of the contract was on the total package price, then you should advise you wish to cancel. You cannot force them to provide the service a a loss, in the same way you cannot make Tesco supply a TV for £10 that was incorrectly priced on their website.0
